Formula One – In Short F1.
What a splendid season this time F1 had….It was just awesome
right from the start of the season in Australia till the best race of F1 career at Brazil. This time F1 saw the most astonishing and nail biting races for the title of F1 Driver Championship. Also the races at Monaco (Street Race) and Singapore (Night Race) were so thrilling.
As always, the war for the title was between Ferrari drivers and the arch rivals McLaren Driver(s). Right from the beginning the races were so good that after each race the next one used to be more and more interesting. From Ferrari, it was Felipe Massa and defending champion Kimi Raikkonen and from McLaren it was the Rookie Lewis Hamilton. This time, surprisingly, Robert Kubica from BMW was also one of the front runner for the
champion title. But the 2-time world champion, Fernando Alonso showed some bit of resistance in some 2-3 races by getting onto the podium. All these four drivers were watching each others back with just a difference of point or two towards championship. But at the later part of the season the race was between Massa and Lewis.
At the end of last but one race in China, Lewis was leading with 94 points and Felipe with a lag of 7 points at 87. Brazil being the home track for Felipe and last season’s win at Brazil, he was obviously at the better end of getting the pole position and also podium finish. And with leading 7 points lewis had to just finish the last race either 5th or lesser position. With lots and lots of home crowd support and cheers, Felipe being the pole position in qualifiers started the race very well. Even the
rain god was present to witness the thrilling race to title. With the slippery track, hamilton being on 4th in row and with soft compound tyres, he slipped two places down to 6th giving a better edge to Massa. The race was really amazing one with Massa not giving the position in leader board and Hamilton trying hard to get to 5th Position.
The tragedy (For Felipe) waited in the last lap
maintaining his position he finished 1st at Brazilian GP and all the crowd in the stands were on their feet. The party, joy began in Ferrari pit stops as Lewis was 6th to finish giving away the Championship title to Massa. (Some stats for those who are interested – At the end of Chinese GP, Massa with 87 points and Lewis with 94 points, If Massa finished 1st his points will be 97, and for Lewis 6th Position means 94+3 = 97, and Massa getting most wins in this season he will be given the Championship title). As Massa crossed the checkered flag, Alonso finished 2nd followed by Ferrari’s Kimi. The hero (or villain) Timo Glock who was supposed to complete 4th, slowed down near the finish line allowing vettel(earlier 5th) and Lewis to pass through. This made Lewis to get most awaited 5th position and also bringing him the World Champion Title.
Me being a hard-core ferrari fan consider this as an unfair even though nothing or nobody can get nething out from hamilton now. But being so perfect on the track Felipe Massa deserved the championship title. It was such an emotional moment for Felipe infront of the Home crowd just missing the Championship by ONE point.
Though Ferrari being the best constructors last year retained the same this season also I seriously wanted Felipe to win the crown. Anyways, Better luck next time Felipe and Kimi
Congratulation Lewis for being the youngest F1 Champion Ever

And between, there is no substitute for the adrenaline rush that comes just by listening to the engine sounds on these mean machines and the sound of a car zooming past at 320 kmph. F1 Rocks.
