Well this is a small write up i am doing to share my experience to and in new Bangalore Internationl Airport (BIAL).
My trip was to Berlin, Germany and that was my first visit to BIAL. Before that I had heard some compliments and lots of comments on the new airport. Having these things in mind my journey towards Airport began at 10:30pm on 10-Jun-2008. My flight was at 2:05 am and I thought it will be good enough to leave by 10:30 so that i will reach there by around 12 in the midnight or may be 12:30 am. But that was the first surprise for me, I reached the new Airport by 11:10 which took only 40 minutes for 38 kms.
But on the way to airport it was just amazing to travel on those roads, the cab was just cruizing along the Hyderabad highway. The view of the highway in the night was superb. The roads are clean, decorated with street lights, the lanes are separated by highly reflective radiums. I couldn’t take out my eyes of the road. From Hyderabad highway we took a left towards BIAL. I never expected the express way to BIAL will be so good.
Check out the pics that i couldn’t stop myself by taking while i was in cab
……
I was wondering to see the arrangements, the maintaenence, the cleaniness, etc near the airport. I think the maintenance is really good (atleast for some time). The BIAL is just as good as (or a bit more than) other airports which I have seen such as Franfurt airport or incheon airport(korea). May be not in infrastructure, but atleast in the road to AIRPORT
…..
Well after reaching the airport well within the time of checkin, I was just roaming around inside the airport. They collected 1070/- as a airport tax which was not convincible for me. The immigration counters are increased in numbers as we need not stand in long queues for long time.
But the only thing i felt is that somewhere there is a lack of view of future in the airport. I am sure its not gonna be the same crowd in coming days. They should have planned the airport in such a way that it should be extendable if the capacity needs to be more. There are only 20 gates and shortage of space may be an issue in future.
From there the journey was good enough and on the day of my return, could you imagine your baggages coming before you clear immigration. I was shocked to see that people are already collecting the baggages just after coming down from the immigration check. I was really happy in this journey as everything was fine
.
W.r.t to TITLE of this post……I do really agree that BIAL is definitely a feather in the crown of BENGALURU
Happy reading
